- A superb boatyard offering a fine fleet of narrowboats all fully fitted and equipped for your every comfort. A family concern since 1961, the boatyard is personally supervised by the owners to ensure that high standards are maintained. Situated at Linslade, close to Leighton Buzzard on the Grand Union Canal, this base offers a number of cruising opportunities either north or south, including a cruise over the Chiltern Hills to London. Stoke Bruerne provides an ideal introductory cruise featuring locks, aqueducts, museums and, for the slightly more ambitious, Blisworth tunnel.
All boats are built and maintained to the highest standards by Wyvern's own craftsmen at Linslade. Novices are most welcome and are given full instruction which includes boat handling, passage through a lock and a practice mooring. Wyvern boats are renowned for their handling qualities.
Boats normally ready at 1.30pm.
All non-family groups should be over 20 and are required to pay a £100 security deposit. Regret no all male/all female groups except with prior permission.

Introductory Short Breaks.
The Wyvern Shipping Company are specialists in introductory cruises to the English canals with fourteen boats that can be hired for short breaks all season. In a weekend (Friday 1.30pm to Monday 9.00am) or mid week (Monday 1.30pm to Friday 9.00am) there is time to slow down, relax and discover the delights of canal cruising. You will pass over two aqueducts, work a few locks, possibly cruise through Blisworth tunnel and see some beautiful countryside and villages. This canal is served with a variety of canalside pubs offering good moorings, food and children's play areas.
For Overseas Visitors.
Wyvern Shipping can arrange for a large taxi to collect you and your crew from Heathrow Airport for £60 or Gatwick Airport for £80. Overnight accommodation before and after your cruise in the local ``Swan Hotel`` at £65 per night for a twin room including full English breakfast. Please contact Wyvern Shipping direct after you receive your holiday booking confirmation for these services. Towels and tea towels can be provided. Suitcases can be stored at the boatyard.
